A family story

The story begins in 1952 when Alphonse Mounier, Marseille big heart, transforms the Beau Rivage restaurant bar. At Fonfon then born.
His nephew Roger Pinna took over in 1996.

In 2003 and with undiminished passion and Peggy Alexander take the baton of the adventure begun 50 years earlier with the taste for quality products and the will to perpetuate the family culinary heritage.

Today, world-renowned for its fish specialties and its famous Bouillabaisse, Chez Fonfon kitchen is in itself a hymn to the Mediterranean scents, colors and taste … a delicious moment to share in a friendly atmosphere .

A true local institution, Fonfon account for 50 years among its guests many French and international celebrities.

Vallon

des Auffes

The valley of Auffes is a small fishing port where the colorful houses rub shoulders with traditional fishing boats and other “sharp”.
Located in the 7th arrondissement, near the Old Port, it is one of the most picturesque places in Marseille.
“Auffe” (auffo in Provençal) is taken from the name of a type of grass traditionally used in the manufacture of fishing nets and ship ropes.
And it is in this key location, a real village in the heart of the city, the restaurant Chez Fonfon is.
